Today I've decided that this is le meilleur des mondes possible, "the best of all possible worlds," as Voltaire wrote centuries ago. A friend reminded me that God wants me exactly where I am, so this is it, as good as it gets, Jack.


Okay.


So the world pandemic is the planet's in-your-face alert to economic and health inequality, racist and sexist favoritism, deadly climate distortions, and malignant dictators.


Thank you Belarus, Kenosha, Khabarovsk, Minneapolis—keep on keepin’ on.


Prayers for Beirut explosion-survivors and Alexei Navalny’s recovery from poisoned tea.


Gratitude for the unshackling of Jacob Blake’s now-paralyzed body.


Today marks the 40th anniversary of Lech Walesa's Solidarity in Gdansk, Solidarnośc.


And the MS + PTSD combo is actually a good thing, protects me from reckless ventures out there into the fray.


Who knows what I'd get into.
